Posting Images/Videos on the forums.

Bigtroopy asked me tonight how we all post pictures and embed videos and such on the forum pages. So i thought I might start with that.

You are going to need to set up a profile on an image hosting site or somewhere you can upload said pictures. Once you have uploaded your picture it will give you a few codes. One of these codes will be a direct link to the picture at its hosted source. Copy the ENTIRE field.

When your writing a post on the forum and you get to the point in your post where you want a picture, select the icon up the top that says "Image" (it should show a framed picture and is located to the left of "Link") Paste your ENTIRE direct link url into the box and hit ok.

Once that is done, it will add the necessary code required to display the picture once your post is sent.


To embed a video from youtube or google video you will need the direct url for it (should be shown in a box on the video page) In your post on the forum you will need to click the film icon up the top labeled "Video" and paste your ENTIRE direct url into the box and hit ok. Once again it will only show the code in the post box and your image/video will only be visible when you view it on the forum.

To put an image in your Signature, just do the same with your image as you would a normal post only in your Signature box in profile settings.

I don't know what the problem is, but I can't get the Signature to work. I did as you said and nothing. I first took the Direct Link code from PhotoBucket and pasted into the Signature box on my profile. Nothing. I then took the IMG code and the HTML code and pasted in the box. The Sig. graphic shows up on my profile, but it isn't showing up on all the posts I have out there. Where exactly do you paste it, maybe I'm doing something wrong there? I also went into my Profile preferences and checked Yes for always attaching my signature.

It is the image code you need. Clicking the framed pic when making a post and putting your direct link in that simply attaches the image code in.

Your problem Antares is that you have not ticked the "Attach Signature to Post" box at the bottom before submitting your posts. So go make sure it is still showing up in your profile and edit one of your posts so you can tick the box at the bottom then resend it.

Ah hah!! That was it! Thanks, I didn't realize I had to check the box on the post itself. I was beating my head against the wall trying to figure this out. I went into the Admin panel and looked at your profile and noticed that I was doing everything right, accept for that last part. Thanks for the tip!
