COD 4 issue Empty COD 4 issue

    Post by PANZER1997 Sat May 30, 2009 10:52 pm

I am getting an error when I attempt to play cod 4, I start the game, select profile, select join game and get the error "iw3mp.exe has stopped working". I have updated all my drivers etc. Do I need to reinstall the game? If so what is the best method of backing up the profile? I have also attempted to look on the intranet to find the issue, but Al Gore could not help.

I had this same problems a few weeks back, what you need to do is

    -Start, control panel
    -Hardware and Sound
    -Sound
    -Recording Tab
-Right Click in window, chose "Show Disabled Devices"
-"Setero MIX"appeared, Right Click and choose enable
    -OK

(Copied from another site, which Im like 90% sure helped me get rid of the problems)

From what I learned, it just springs up one day on people.

I start the computer with my headset plugged in to avoid this problem. (Vista)

Panzer - If you can't get the issue resolved and need to reinstall, you want to look for your Profiles folder in your COD4 directory within the Activision directory. Being that I'm not a Vista user, I'm not exactly sure where you'll find that. We can help you out if need be.

If you are using Vista it is in the CoD4 directory in the "Players" folder.
