What happened with me was mainly boredom with the game and trying to enforce rules. Which was why I was such an advocate for the mods. I stopped enjoying the game because I spent most of my time babysitting the rule breakers. I know that others helped. Its hard to enjoy a game when you're constantly having to warn and kick people. It blows your game play and it got old and to the point that gaming wasn't fun anymore. Getting on the server wasn't about playing. It was about babysitting the noobs. Also, I enjoy the competitiveness of Bolt Rifle play, but single shot and mainly the same weapon map after map gets old after awhile. The core group of us spent countless hours on the server, which I totally appreciate all of yours commitment to in playing and enforcing the rules, but eventually all games wear themselves out.
Combine this with the fact that last summer my five year relationship went in the shitter. Not because of gaming either, but for other imcompatibilities. Being that I was bored and frustrated with the game, I chose to put gaming aside to see if I could save the relationship, which didn't work. With the failure of MW2 and no other games out there interesting enough, COD5 seemed like to logical choice to revist.
Moon and I were on our regular COD5 HC server other night and I think he agrees that its very refreshing to just play the game and not have to worry about enforcing rules. Granted the Betty's get old. But having all the weapons and perks helps keep things a bit more interesting too. What I've proposed is if you're bored and looking for something else to play, maybe the new HC server we started could hold you over until BC2. That or we just wait until 45 days or so for BC2. But then there is no guarantee that will be a great game either. Looks good.
