Here is a good trailer with interviews with the developers. It shows some good ingame footage and shared information about whats coming up. It takes a bit for this to load, but its worth the watch.

Looks really good. Destructable environment's going to be really cool. Did you here the comment about 30fps? Means its going to be a resource hog, good thing I just bought a quad core processor! Team play is all we have been able to do on mw2 anyway so I wont miss ffa as much. Il see if I can pre-order locally. Can we have a server on release date?

Minimum HW requirements are a dual core and a 7800 GT card. But I imagine that you'll be running things on minimum settings with that HW in order to play the game half decently. Recommended HW is a quad core, can't remember the video card, but probably in the 260GTX range or so.

The game looks pretty cool. Looks like some pretty good graphics and as you point out Moon, that destructable environment is pretty neat too. Though something tells me that there will be a lot of noob tubing going on. If its a good game, then I'll need to consider addressing building a new rig. Or maybe my dual core FX-60, 8800 GTS 512MB and 2GB's of good RAM will surprise me. Doubtful though.

Checked on the Gameservers.com forum yesterday and read that they're still waiting to hear from EA on the specifics on the hosting. It seems certain that they'll be offering servers. They're not sure yet on the beta server offer. I'll keep on top of it.

Ok sweet. If we can have a server on release I think it will help us get our name out there and be ready for recruiting some more peeps...

Definitely! If we can have a server up on release and have some peeps playing it, then yes I think we'll build server traffic right away. Thats what happened when World at War came out. We had a beta server running for a week and once the game was released, we saw a number of players from the beta server find us and I remember we had very consistent traffic from the get-go. We'll also want to recruit aggressively to get more players on the server consistently.

If we want to build and maintain traffic to where there are players on the server 24x7, then we should probably leave the game stock unless there are some really bad perks or stuff like that. I think we all agree that we're tired of trying to enforce rules? I just want to play the damn game, not have noobs constantly game-busting me by requiring us to constantly enforce rules which is a distraction. Thats ultimately what burned me out on W@W.

I've heard the maps are huge and we'll want to take that into consideration for the player slots. Right now I think we need a minumum of (32) 16 per team, perhaps even 18 per team. I imagine the most popular servers will be running 50-64 player slots. Obviously we don't want to run around always trying to find peeps, but we also don't want to create chaos either. Probably 18-20 per team would create good tactical play.

I guess we can change it if need be though? We are still limited at first with 32 players as you said in another thread?

No perks in the game, from playing it so far, I see no problem with everything being stock so far, guns are balance (lolIW/Treyneedstolearnbalance), each class is design to do its own thing.

Assault - Well.....yeah....<.<, get a assault rifle, side arm, nade tube, and ammo drops, which when you get good enough and such, you can rape a entire team without ever running out of ammo, just mind the reloads Razz.

Engineer - Anti Tank class, SMG, side arm, Rocket, and a tool for either repairing your teams vehicle, or destroying a enemyes. Combine the dart gun (laser targets for rockets I believe it was) with your rockets, and shit dies.

Medic - Didn't touch this class, get a LMG, side arm, I believe its a health drop, just like the assault's ammo drop, and a deflib, which raises dead teammates, no timer, its instant, I've died, went to scratch my head waiting for the respawn timer, and get revive in half a second in order to die again, so watch it Razz.

Scout - Typical sniper class, Sniper Rifle, sidearm, C4/charges for tanks, and this I thing is unique, a little ball that you throw and beeps when a enemy is in range, in this game, it IS wise to camp as a sniper, just be sure to be a alert and try to get headshots Razz.

They all get 1 nade as well. :O

Just remember, its not CoD, there is a little thing in it called gravity that IW/Trey never found out about while living on this world.
