    Call of Duty: Black Ops

    Post by Shek on Sat May 01, 2010 8:41 am

    Make a Call of Duty: Black Op section dawg! Razz

    About a hour, 2 hours ago gametrailers showed the very first trailer for the next Call of Duty game produce by Treyarch titled: Call of Duty: Black Ops.

    The game is to be set in the Vietnam War during the 1960s, and will be released on November 9, 2010. Although not much else is known, it has been
    hinted that the game will be set in Vietnam and the Cold War.

    Just looked at the CallofDutywiki site, and people have listed these for the guns so far based off of what they saw in the trailer and other pictures....

    Assault Rifles:

    * AK-47 (Confirmed)
    * M16/AR-15 variant (Likely CAR-15) (confirmed)
    * AUG (confirmed)
    * G3 (possible)

    Submachine Guns:

    * MP5 (Possible)

    Shotguns:

    * SPAS-12 (Confirmed)

    Machine Guns:

    * RPK (Confirmed)

    Grenades:

    * M67 (confirmed)

    Honestly after the somewhat failures of Trey's last 2 games. Call of Duty 3 and Call of Duty: World at War, will a 3rd time be the charm? IW is pretty much gone as most of the employess have left and some are suing Act over shit.

    I personally hope to god this is a good game, if not then Halo: Reach will keep me busy (beta for that starts on Monday for 360....game looks fucking amazing).

    Main question....where the hell is my bolt action sniper?!?!?!? Your guy's thoughts on Black Ops?

    Pretty much just a teaser trailer, setting the mood for the game and telling the fans what date it'll be release.

    Considering that this is going to be Vietnam based, hopefully they don't overwhelm us with jungle maps. I like jungle maps, however we all know what they mean. LOTS OF SNIPERS, LOTS OF CAMPERS!

    I think one of the main reasons World at War was never that popular because of all the people out there who like to hold a grudge and automatically dismissed World at War as being screwed up, because of their experience with COD3. In reality I think World at War was a decent game, had they balanced the weapons better including better weapon sounds and some recoil, I think it would have been an excellent game. All games have issues in the beginning.

    So far I haven't seen any better graphics than what Treyarch did with World at War. Even if they don't improve them in this next release, I'm sure its going to be a gorgeous looking game. I'm excited about it. The biggest question here for me is - Are there going to be dedicated servers? In the coming months, that will be a popular question in the community. If we do not see any sort of confirmation on that question, then that could possibly mean that treyarch will take the same path at MW2. Lets hope not! Something tells me they won't considering what an epic failure IWNet has been.

    Lol true that.

    We shall see though Ant. I remember reading somewhere that Cod7 is supposed to be fighting the "Missions that didn't happen" in the era of the Viet war. Doesn't necessarily mean all jungle maps

    They're probably be some city fighting for the battles in Hue and Siagon. I think that article stated some village types maps, probably like Makin Day in COD5. I think that as long as they have dedicated servers, this is probably going to be at least as good as COD5, probably a bit better. Hopefully they've improved the weapons including putting some sway into them and better weapon sounds. That shit was weak in COD5.

    Make the sectionz!!

    More info, (after I read this, I fell in love with Trey, IM FUCKING GLAD IW IS GOING UNDER YOU FUCKING ASSHOLES) *rant off*

    Call of Duty 7 - long rumoured to be set
    in Vietnam - will feature the custom killstreaks introduced in Modern
    Warfare 2.

    That's according to the eagle-eyed
    super-fans at CoD Vietnam News, who've dug through Treyarch's recent
    forum comments with a fine comb to compile a list of things we know
    about the next Call of Duty (which admittedly isn't much).

    Apparently, the developer's 'Treyarch
    dev Vahn' (real name David Vonderhaar - Multiplayer Design Director for
    the upcoming CoD game) has strongly suggested the firm will ditch a lot
    of the imbalances of MW2 multiplayer, including the Commando perk and
    the controversial nuke killstreak.

    Here's what they came up with:

    • While they've tried
      having custom killstreaks for each class, that seemed to complicate the
      'purity and speed' of Create a Class.

    • Consequently, it's fair to assume that customizable killstreaks are all
      but confirmed.
    • At this stage in
      development, killstreaks stack and carry over if you die, but do not
      contribute to further killstreaks (hence eliminating the 'camping for
      killstreaks' problem of Modern Warfare 2).
    • Treyarch are not fans of Commando, the extended
      melee range perk in Modern Warfare 2, and it is unlikely to return.
    • They've tried a 'manned' version of the Sentry
      Gun killstreak, but weren't fans.
    • We
      may well see a return to pistols as the only available sidearm, or
      perhaps a choice between pistols and launchers. Vahn and many of the
      team are not fans of shotguns and machine pistols as secondary weapons -
      it gives a player 'too much firepower'.
    • The knife may well become a secondary weapon -
      although Vahn didn't want to say too much.
    • Finally, don't expect the nuke to return as a
      killstreak. Vahn says they are not fans of a game-ending killstreak

    Seems unlike FUCKING IW, Trey has been paying attention to the fanbase after MW2 was release and heed our calls.

    I was sold the moment I read no commando. Please for the love of god make Pistols/Stinger type missles secondary only, no more overpowered secondaries that are more powerful then a god damn fucking SMG/LMG. From what I've also heard, they WILL DO A BETA (yesh!), and now are wanting feedback from the community for the Multiplayer part of BlackOps.

    All in all, I guess the a 3rd game was the charm for Trey to get their head out of their asses and do something, if they can pull off a excellent balance game that has no bullshit like shotgun secondary, nukes, carepackages (seriously, someone who barely gets 4 kills will end up getting a chopper gunner/AC-130 and pretty much win the match based on luck alone, game needs to be about skill not god damn luck).

    Please Trey, this is pretty much the last chance for a good Call of Duty game since the days of Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, if not, then this series is over as Act plans for 3-4 CoD games a year will start next year. Guitar Hero: Call of Duty anyone?!??!!?

    When you lunge about 10-15 feet with a knife/tact knife, thru Gunshots, or a shotgun and bypass all damage because you are immune to damage during it, yeah theres a god damn problem with knifing in that game, a huge problem that should of been fixed in the bet....oh wait we had no beta.

    I get a knife being a 1shot thing, I'm cool with it, but when you fucking auto lunge 10-15 feet with Commando, or 5-10 with it, I've seen people lunge the distance of commando but don't have the perk, yeah, there is no skill in it and you pretty much just fail at using a normal gun.

    In other news, Lost Planet 2 MP is fun (PC gets the game later this year), but fuck the 1 melee kill gun sword.....
