Red Dead Redemption - Time for Some Wild West Action? Empty Red Dead Redemption - Time for Some Wild West Action?

Not sure if any of you are aware of this series of wild west games but this one is supposed to be pretty good. Its made by Rockstar games that produces the GTA series. They are supposed to be putting out a PC version too, but not sure when that will be released. I'm going to check it out to see if it could hold me over for a few months until something else comes out. Overall this looks pretty cool. I'm trying to figure out of its a first person shooter. I think it is. Anyone know? Not sure if you can honestly tells from the clips. Hopefully it is.

Here is a write up on the multiplayer modes. Looks to be a general FFA and TDM option. Not sure about dedicated servers for PC. I think the graphics are supposed to be good.

The only thing that kinda bothers me about this game and maybe its not a big deal is that it looks to be a second person shooter? I wonder why they just don't make these games first person's? Whats the advantage of making it second person? Other than that, it looks to be a pretty cool game. Could definitely have some fun with it for a few months till something better comes along.

3rd Person shooters, its from the makers of the GTA series, which were all 3rd person (Minus the one for the gameboy color which is overview top type thing).

A lot of games are better in 3rd person then first person, example Gears of War series for Xbox and PC, that game brought in a whole new way of playing 3rd person shooters as it was the first game to come out with a cover system (I believe it was the first game to have the system).

Ever played The Resident Evil series? The older games weren't somewhat a 3rd person, but RE4/RE5 was a 3rd person over the shoulder game (RE4 to this day I think is one of the greatest fucking games ever made, just so much damn reply value in it and its just plain fucking fun, guys should try it if you want a SP game that'll keep you busy for a long time Razz).

All in all, some games are design to be in 1st person, others in 3rd person, just matters of what the game is, what style of shooter it is, and more.

I'm definitely going to check it out. Hopefully it will be out on PC soon. Not sure what they're planning on for server, as hopefully this doesn't have some cheesy ass piece of shit match making service that blows my gaming experience.

Looks like they have some neat gadets in this game like a bullwhip that you can fuck people up with. I guess the blood and sounds are pretty graphic as well. Apparently you can choose different breeds of horses to cruise around on. Might be fun!

Have you seen this write up on the multiplayer mode including the trailer on free roam? I think I could get use to the third person aspect to it. In all this game looks like it could have some potential. Good combat and death scenarios, looks like a fair amount of blood, an unlock system to upgrade weapons/horses etc. Hopefully they'll release the PC version soon. I'm definitely going to check this one out. For those who like bolt action and pistols, this is your game! Been waiting on a good western game to come out for a long time.

Scroll down for the YouTube trailer......

This game got a 9.5 rating on Gamespot.com. 9.7 avg. by the critics. Overall supposed to be a great game! Now if only they'll release it for PC in the not too distant future.

Here is a link to the review on Gamespot. 3rd person or not, in ways it still the same as first person. Just focus on the crosshair and don't worry about the dude to the left. Fuck it, figure I'll give it a try.

Shek, have you got this game yet? I have a PS3 but don't generally game on it. Just use it as a Blu Ray player. Never got that funky ass controller down.

Yeah I got it, I fucking love it, really a amazing game, has my vote for game of the year.

Sadly Rockstar said there is currently no plans for a PC version.

I been seeing SS's/hearing that the ps3 version looks crappier, as the 360 has it running at 760p I believe reviewers said and the ps3 is running at 610pish and doesn't have AAx4 which the 360 has, after seeing some SS's it seems the ps3 is lacking graphic wise, not as much grass/bushes, looks kinda meh.

If you want I can record some gameplay and post it on here so you can see (was gonna record when I go to hogtie a bitch, put her on the railroad tracks, and wait for sweet bliss).

Definitely! Please do record some footage. Would love to see it! Hogtie a bitch? As in a woman? Put her on the railroad tracks and she gets run over? Red Dead Redemption - Time for Some Wild West Action? Icon_smile I gotta see that! What I've read about the game so far on some forums in in line with what you're saying. So now they've decided to not release it on the PC huh? Man, that blows big time!

Awesome news, first online match I decided to turn on my capture card on to record, didn't actually die at the start in the shootout, started out with a 15-16 killstreaks, and a quite a few headshots/multiple headshots in a row, and the first kill of the match after the shootout is fucking funny in my opinion, as I killed him I couldn't stop laughing.

Its being edited now and will be up sometime tomorrow, also got some footage of some SinglePlayer action along with the train running over a hogtie women Very Happy.

Sounds cool! Looking forward to seeing the video. I'm jealous! Being that you said the graphics on the PS3 aren't as good as the Xbox, I may pass on buying the game :-(

That match was from the Casuel Play list, and if your not using AA (expert mode) in it and bitch, your a idiot as you'll find pretty much 90% of the people in that playlist who will use Casual AA (this is a huge AA, as Auto Aim in this game is very very effective), there are different playlist for AA (Hardcore is expert with no AA, theres a Veteran mode which is unlock at max level, don't have it yet). All about getting the feel for MP thought, also the fact that the entire time I was pretty much in the middle of map, not sitting in a corner, on a roof, etc.

Looks pretty cool! Also looks like you're doing some pwning on there too *lol* Is that jazz music playing in the background game music? The third person aspect is kinda weird but i guess its something you could get use to. What weapon do most people use? Looks like you're using a level action rifle. Are the graphics much better compared to the youtube video? I imagine they are. Hows the dynamite and moltov cocktails?
