Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has any ideas to why my game keeps freezing, it seems to be happening about every 20 mins now, the game just freezes up and i have to reboot, i have had two blue screens about 3 days a go, but now just freeze, any feed back would be appreciated. freezing in game Icon_mad

run a mem test, hdd, cpu temp test any other test tools you can get your hands on to test and if all else fails reinstall.. were the blue screens in game or on boot up?

the blue screen only happened whilst playing games aswell, other than that the pc sits on all day and you can do anything else and its fine.

could be video card overheating, when in game it really does some work. i found with all the dust from the house renovations mine was doing the same. got a compressor and blew all the crap out and works fine since..

In the end after doing all the checks and a restore, the bastard turned out to be that shithouse punkbuster, I had to go and download a file called "pbsec.htm"to my punkbuster folder. Thanks slapper for your input on this matter! So far so good, I HATE PUNKBUSTER, never catches the hacks whats the good of it.

bro, the BSoD's are not from PB. PB can only cause the game to crash and you to be kicked out of servers. It could be bad config files, or definitely memory problems. RAM is one of the biggest problems of a BSoD and is usually overlooked the most. Make sure to clean all your connecters. Take every piece of hardware out, blow it off with compressed air, and gently rub the connectors with rubbing alcohol or something.

I suggest using a Pencil Eraser on the RAM and Video Card contacts, as well as giving your entire case a blow with a can of compressed air (Get from Tandy or Jaycar or somewhere like that) If that doesn't help I would find a program to monitor your graphix cards temperature.

    Also try re-installing the game.
